Job Description

Provide policy advice and technical assistance to support Ministry and partners in their endeavors aiming to promote youth friendly programmes and strategies:

Provide policy advice to the Ministry on the designing and implementation of youth socio – economic aspects through the national development frameworks;
Support the designing and implementation of time bound of youth mainstreaming across national and sector development plans;
Ensure the engagement of young people in policy formulation and decision making process;

Mapping and conduct regular assessment of Ministry’s partners involved in youth empowerment:

Identify and maintain updated databanks of all development partners involved in the youth empowerment;
Facilitate regular and optimal functioning of stakeholders for better joint youth planning and reporting;
Assist in the management of partnerships and coordination of development partner’s interventions;
Analyze development partners’ annual plans and assist in the assessment of their interventions outcomes on the delivery of youth development, objectives & targets.

Support and determine youth status towards socio – economic transformation and optimization of demographic dividend:

Participate in consultations with partners during the elaboration of national programs, strategies and policies intended to promote youth;
Create an enabling environment that engages young people into transformational and development initiatives;
In collaboration with other technical departments and lead the design of technical cooperation programmes including youth related policies and youth employment programs.

Work closely with technical departments in mainstreaming youth priorities into Local Government plans:

Follow up and evaluate the implementation of the youth policy actions into national programs;
Analyse the reports and provide political recommendations;
Monitor the progress of the implementation of different programs by the affiliated agencies, sector and local government.


Prepare the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports of activities share them with the supervisor;
Carry out any other assignment as requested by the supervisor;
Prepare analytical reports on selected subjects within the areas of interest.

Job Profile

A0 in Public Policy, Development Studies, Political Studies, Economics, Sociology with 3 years of working experience; Business studies or Master or Equivalent in Public Policy, Development Studies, Political Studies, Economics, Sociology with one year of working experience.
